Tasks

Daily work
  1. Deployment, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications networks and computer systems, VPN tunnels, local servers, monitoring systems, remote access systems, and cybersecurity (IDS) systems, etc.;
  2. Installation, configuration, and testing of local area networks;
  3. Provision of physical infrastructure for data transmission: crimping and laying cables, installing outlets, mounting switching equipment, and installing and configuring uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems;
  4. Deploying and maintaining active and passive network equipment (switches, routers, hubs, Wi-Fi access points, Wi-Fi bridges, etc.);
  5. Conducting technical inspections, monitoring, diagnostics, prompt troubleshooting, and restoring the operational capability of network connections, telecommunications networks, and systems;
  6. Providing technical support (configuring office equipment, installing Windows and office software, advising on IT-related issues, etc.);
  7. Installing servers and network filters, and upgrading existing infrastructure;
  8. Collaborating with team technicians to ensure tasks are completed;
  9. Maintaining communication with other departments and military units within the scope of job responsibilities.

Requirements

Must-have
  • 18-50 y.o.
  • A university degree or specialized technical education (radio communications, telecommunications, computer science, etc.);
  • Experience in setting up and operating peripheral devices (printers, scanners, plotters, etc.), computer equipment (laptops, desktops, monitors, computer accessories, etc.), and telecommunications equipment (Wi-Fi routers, switches, routers, local servers, etc.);
  • Experience configuring and maintaining office workstations (installing Windows, office software, configuring monitors, peripheral devices, and accessories);
  • An understanding of network principles and protocols (OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, etc.) will be a significant advantage;
  • Experience working with network equipment from Ubiquiti, TP-Link, MikroTik, ZPE, FortiNet, or similar vendors is a plus;
  • Skills in using measurement equipment for testing cable lines (twisted-pair tester, OTDR) will be an advantage;
  • Ability to quickly deploy and configure modern software products using documentation;
  • Programming skills and knowledge of Linux will be a significant advantage;
  • Experience repairing and troubleshooting modern telecommunications, peripheral, computer, and radio equipment will be a significant advantage;
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of information security and cybersecurity;
  • Attention to detail, responsibility, perseverance, and the ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to use a systematic approach to problem-solving;
  • Physical fitness sufficient to perform moderately strenuous physical work;

How the selection process works

Steps
  1. Interview
  2. Completion of initial documentation
  3. Mobilization/signing a contract for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or transfer between units under the full support of a specialist from the 428th Separate Battalion of Unmanned Systems “Shadow”
  4. Completion of Basic General Military Training and/or specialized training
  5. Arrival at the unit
